YOKO RITONA

Yoko was one of the first people Shizuo met in Death City, and with the departure of Celty, she's also his oldest friend in the city. Yoko surprised Shizuo with her physical strength - not quite as strong as him, but this meant she was never phased by his physical strength. When Shizuo first arrived he was still very awkward about his strength, so this was a surprise and a very welcome turn of events. Yoko also shares a similar fiery temper, which has led to the two having a couple of shouting matches without worrying about hurting each other.

They don't see each other very often due to different circles of friends and their work hours, but they try to meet up every now and again and Shizuo is glad to know her.

DEATH THE KID

The leader of Death City. Shizuo has a fair amount of respect for Kid, even if he does think he's a grade a nut job. He's a young boy, even if he does have immense power, and he's taking on responsibility of a life and death situation. Whilst Shizuo was initially wary about joining the war, he's willing to help out how he can.

... even if that involves drawing circles on a piece of paper to calm him down during a freak out

DOJIMA NANAKO

Nanako was one of the first people Shizuo spoke to, like with Yoko. She stuck out in his mind by trying her best not to be frightened of him during one of his fits of rage... and succeeding fairly well. Since then, Shizuo has become incredibly fond of Nanako. She's a sweet girl who shouldn't even be in Death City is his opinion, but she has a very large group of people willing to keep her safe - Shizuo included.

Nanako makes him feel calm. He enjoys talking to her because it's generally about topics he enjoys - pet discussions being one of them - and she's a very admirable and strong girl given her age. Woe betide anyone who causes her harm - they'll have half of Death City after them. Shizuo included.

ARAGAKI SHINJIRO

Shinjiro reminds Shizuo a fair bit of himself. They both seem to prefer silence over talk, and their meetings often involve little conversation and more lounging around smoking and just enjoying the company.

During the SEES and company mission to scout the kidnapped guests of Death City, Shizuo and Shinjiro were partnered. They worked fairly well as a team, especially given Shinjiro's background with wielding axes and oddly enough stop signs, but were united on the decision not to make the partnership permanent given the fact they were a bit too similar to each other for it to be of any long term benefit.

Given Shizuo's own issues with self-hatred, he can tell Shinjiro has some level of it as well. He can't tell how much, nor does he really have any inclination to bring it up with him unless something major happens. It's not his business, and he knows how frustrating it can be to have people who don't quite Get It telling you how you have to change.

ERIDAN AMPORA

In the current absence of any form of Izaya from Death City, Eridan Ampora has become the biggest thorn in Shizuo's side. He got on Shizuo's 'HATE' list back when Sandry was in Death City and it came out that Eridan had backhanded her. With a hand covered in rings. Needless to say, Shizuo was pissed off and - along with many others - was quick to let Eridan know exactly what he should do to him to make things equal between him and Sandry in Shizuo's eyes.

Only... it kind of back fired. Unaware of the troll's odd way of measuring romance, Shizuo has found himself the object (or one of, at least) of Eridan's "black" feelings, or 'kismesis' as they call it. As hard as he tries to get Eridan off his back, Shizuo hasn't quite sorted it out in his mind that punching Eridan is just going to increase the troll's attempts to con him into a kismesis relationship, and isn't able to stop himself from punching him in the first place.

It's a Catch 22 situation, and Shizuo hasn't got a clue how to get out of it.
